INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS WITH DGCA
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA),Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, invites applications from meritorious students of recognized FTO , AME Institutes and universities for its Internship Scheme.
The scheme is designed to provide students with first-hand exposure to the regulatory and oversight functions of civil aviation, including areas such as aviation safety, airworthiness, flight operations, Flying Training , air navigation services, aviation security, economic regulation, legal and policy frameworks, and related fields.
Key Highlights of the Internship Scheme:
- Eligibility: Undergraduate and postgraduate students from disciplines such as Engineering, Law, Economics, Management, Public Policy, Aviation, and allied fields
- Duration:3 months
- Stipend:Rs. 5,000/- per month for a maximum of 03 months.
- Intake Schedule: two terms during January to June and July to December.

Objective of the Internship
The internship aims to provide participants with:
- In-depth understanding of civil aviation regulation
- Exposure to policy formulation and regulatory frameworks
- Practical insight into technical operations ensuring safe and efficient air travel
- Hands-on experience through guided interaction with seasoned professionals
Scope of Work & Learning Areas
Interns may be assigned to one or more of the following critical aviation domains:
Core Functional Areas
- Airfare Monitoring & Tariff Analysis – Studying fare trends and pricing transparency
- Regulatory Impact Assessment – Evaluating effects of aviation regulations
- Airport Infrastructure & Aerodrome Standards
- Air Safety, Licensing & Surveillance Systems
- Environmental Regulation & Sustainability
- Air Navigation Services & Emerging Technologies etc.
Application & Selection Process
- Applications are accepted online only via the DGCA official website
- Applications must be submitted 6 months in advance, but not later than 3 months before the desired term
- Candidates must specify their Area of Interest (as per Annexure-A)
- Shortlisting is done by the Training Division, DGCA
- Final selection is based on interaction/interview with the concerned Directorate Head
- Selected candidates receive an Offer of Internship directly from DGCA
