Civil Aviation Minister launches ‘Fare Se Fursat’ scheme

Alliance Air’s ‘Fare se Fursat’ Scheme: Finally, Relief from Fluctuating Airfares!

In a historic move set to redefine affordable air travel in India, the government-owned regional carrier, Alliance Air, has launched the groundbreaking ‘Fare se Fursat’ (Freedom from Fares) fixed airfare scheme

Introduced by the Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, this initiative directly addresses the long-standing frustration of passengers dealing with unpredictable and skyrocketing last-minute ticket prices. As the Minister himself stated, this scheme is a significant step towards making Indian aviation more “people-oriented” and aligns perfectly with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of democratizing air travel.

The Game-Changer: One Route, One Fare

Under ‘Fare se Fursat,’ Alliance Air is shaking up the dynamic pricing model that dominates India’s aviation market. The core principle is simple yet revolutionary: a single, fixed fare that remains constant regardless of the booking date, even on the day of departure.

This initiative offers passengers something invaluable: predictability and freedom from stress. No more panicked checking of prices or the uncertainty of last-minute travel costs! It ensures that the middle class, lower-middle class, and neo-middle class can access air travel without financial surprises.

Carrying Forward the UDAN Vision

Alliance Air, often described as the backbone of the government’s Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik), is using ‘Fare se Fursat’ to further the core principles of the scheme: making air travel available, accessible, and affordable.

Minister Rammohan Naidu praised Alliance Air’s exemplary step, calling it “Naye Bharat ki Udaan” (Flight of New India) for its focus on public service over pure profitability.

This effort complements the broader vision of making airports and air travel dignified and accessible, following the launch of initiatives like the Udan Yatri Cafes which offer tea for just ₹10 and coffee/snacks for ₹20 at airports.

Pilot Run for a Bigger Future

To evaluate its operational feasibility and gauge passenger response, the ‘Fare Se Fursat’ scheme is being implemented on a pilot basis from October 13 to December 31, 2025, across select routes.

This bold step by Alliance Air is not just about pricing; it is about building trust and stability in air travel, especially for first-time flyers from smaller towns. By eliminating the fear of variable costs, ‘Fare se Fursat’ is set to encourage more citizens to embrace the skies, truly making the UDAN vision a reality for every Indian.
